Chaperon 13e siècle (Commande)

Hood model worn in the 13th century; it is relatively short and has no liripipe (= a more or less long tail at the end of the hood).
Late 12th - early 13th century it is worn by workers. Around 1250 it is shown on women.
Around the middle of the 13th century wearing the hood becomes widespread in all classes of society; the materials used indicate the status.
It is often shown slit at the front (from around the middle of the century), but it is also found closed, or even always closed, in the early 13th century and before.
