Cotte longue 13e siècle - bourgeois

The tunic is worn over the shirt.
The neckline is fitted and can have several closure systems. The most common is the round neckline or the amigaut (central slit) fastened with a brooch.
The sleeves, full from the shoulder, are fitted on the forearm. Depending on status and period they can close with buttons, discreet lacing (hypothesis) or simply be fitted with no opening.
Historically, it is worn bloused at the belt. It is often seen slit at the centre front and back.

This model, intended for the bourgeois, is long (lower calf - ankle) and about 4.5-5 metres wide at the hem.
In the photo, the two-colour tunic with flame-shaped dags is associated with musicians (available by quote only, please get in touch).
