Shield-shaped banner

This shield shape is probably medieval-inspired (I have no historical sources for the West), and is frequently used by medieval re-enactment companies.
There are banners ending in a triangle dating from the Middle Ages in the East (Turkey in particular).
I make these banners in linen, most often with appliquéd motifs (fabric cut then sewn), or by painting when there is more detail.

Possible options:
  • Emblem on 1 or 2 sides
  • Type of attachment: tunnel, loops (battlements), laces
  • Fabric: silk, linen, cotton
  • Visible hand-sewn seams
Technique used for the emblem: embroidery, appliquéd fabric, painting
